Chaturbhuj temple located in Khajuraho is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Dating back to 1100 AD. Chaturbhuj is a Sanskrit word which means one who has four arms which indicate Lord Vishnu. It was built by Yasovarma of the Chandela dynasty. The presiding deity in the temple is a four-armed idol of Lord Vishnu, 2.7 metres in height and the idol is south faced. This famous temple of MP has a sanctum and an entrance porch.

Built in AD 1100, the Chaturbhuj Temple is also known as the Jatakari Temple and is counted amongst the Southern Group of Temples in Khajuraho. The shrine stands 3 kilometres away from the Eastern Group in the Jatakari Village and is popular for its impressive architecture. It has an entrance porch, sanctum without ambulatory, mandapa and vestibule.
